About

The Field Guide

A short, true, sourced science page every week — for curious kids, parents, and teachers.

What this is

Big Wrinkly Brain publishes one short science entry a week, paired with a 60-second YouTube Short. Every entry follows the same format: a hook, the big fact, a plain-English mechanism, why it matters, a five-question quiz, a try-it-at-home activity, and the citations we used.

Who it's for

Curious kids, the parents who get cornered with their questions, and the teachers who need ten more minutes of decent Monday-morning material.

How we research

Every entry starts with a real scientific paper or near-primary source. We link the citations on each page so you can check us. We don't invent history, statistics, or scientific claims to make a hook punchier — if it's on a Big Wrinkly Brain page, we have a paper for it.

The Weekly Dispatch

Once a week we send a free email to parents and teachers — the latest field guide entry, formatted for your inbox. Sign up here. Adults only, free, unsubscribe anytime.
